Message from the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education

On behalf of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery (Oto-HNS) at the University of Toronto, I would like to welcome you to our undergraduate medical education (UME) program.  The UME program in Oto-HNS at the University of Toronto is the largest  in the country and one of the largest programs in North America.  We are involved in 9 courses at the UME level with over 1000 students passing through our teaching hospitals every year.  Our faculty are widely invested in teaching at the undergraduate level with both full and part time faculty involvement across 14 hospitals.

We strive to provide students with the most rewarding educational experience in our specialty with novel teaching tools including simulation technology and excellent student to faculty ratio.  We look forward to having you learn with us and make the most of your time in our Department.  Much of the information about our UME program is available on this website but if you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Undergraduate Assistant.
